UPDATE REGARDING JUNIOR ROLES IN CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY
After further exploration of the Broadway version of the script, we have made the decision to cast all roles, except for Charlie, with older performers, as was done professionally. This choice is due to the challenging vocal ranges written for these roles.

ADVANCED INFORMATION FOR JUNIOR PERFORMERS
We are still looking for a talented young performer to play Charlie. The golden ticket for this iconic role will be awarded following auditions in January 2025.
Please note that all other roles in the production, including Veruca, Mike, Augustus, and Violet, have already been cast with members of our adult musical theatre company. There will be no additional junior ensemble in this production.

We are currently on the lookout for a talented boy to play the role of Charlie in our upcoming production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. This is a fantastic opportunity for boys aged 8-13. Please find the audition information below!

Requirements for the Role of Charlie:

Open to boys aged 8-13 (must have an unbroken singing voice).

Commitment to attend rehearsals on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 PM, starting 5th February 2025.

ROUND 1: Video Audition
Audition Submission Details: Please submit an audition tape of yourself singing 'Letter for Charlie Bucket'. Ensure you sing in a British accent and submit your audition to our WhatsApp number: 07450 267136 no later than the 23rd January 2025.

When submitting your audition, please:

Clearly introduce yourself and state your age and height.

Sing along to the backing track (auditions performed to the practice track will not be considered).

Showcase your acting skills as part of the performance - we encourage expressive delivery!

ROUND 2: Call Back Audition
Those successful will be invited to attend a 1-2-1 audition on Monday 27th January at Get Your Wigle On Studios. Applicants will be invited to attend this audition no later than 24th January.
​
We hope to announce our Charlie to the world on Tuesday 28th of January!
​
Please note: Children auditioning for the role of Charlie are expected to have prior performance experience, as this is a demanding role. Singing examinations and/or drama qualifications will be advantageous for those eager to try out for this role.
