Parent's Guide to Supporting Your Child's Wigle Experience

Welcome to the Wigle family! As a parent, your involvement is essential to your child’s success and enjoyment in our programmes. Here’s a few steps to show how you can support their journey & ensure you stay in the loop:

Familiarise yourself with class manager

Once you’ve signed up, you will be enrolled onto our account management system called Class Manager. We encourage you to explore this platform, as it will be an invaluable tool for keeping track of everything related to your classes and rehearsals.

What Can You Do on Class Manager?

  • View Class Schedules: Easily find out when classes and rehearsals are on - or if there are any changes or cancellations.

  • Term Information: Access important details about term dates, upcoming events, and other key information.

  • Manage Fees: Keep track of your term fees, payment schedules, and any related financial details.

You can find a link to your Class Manager account on the Members and Parent Portal, or by clicking here.

By familiarising yourself with Class Manager, you’ll have everything you need to stay organised and informed throughout the term!

There is a handy app available to download onto your smartphone so you can easily manage your account. Simply search 'class manager' in your App Store and log in.

Kit Up with Wigle Uniform

To create a cohesive and professional environment, we ask that all students wear the Wigle uniform to classes and rehearsals. This includes a black t-shirt paired with joggers, leggings, or shorts that allow for free movement. Wigle t-shirts and hoodies are available for purchase from our shop if needed. Wearing the correct uniform helps your child feel part of the team and ready to perform.

Pay term fees

To secure your child’s place in our classes and productions, please ensure that term fees are paid promptly at the start of each term. Fees not paid within two weeks will incur a late fee unless a payment plan is in place. Details on how to pay can be found in your welcome pack or online.

Notify Us of Absences

If your child is unable to attend a class or rehearsal, please notify us as soon as possible. Consistent attendance is crucial for their development and for the smooth running of our productions. Early notification helps us plan accordingly and ensures no one falls behind.

Follow us on social media

To stay up-to-date with everything happening at Wigle, make sure to follow our social media channels:

It’s also a great place to connect with other parents and share the experience together. If you are not on Facebook - don't panic, any important information will be emailed to you.

For parents of those who are involved in a production or undertaking exams

Help Practice at Home

Your child may have lines, songs, or choreography to learn for their exams or performances. Your support at home in helping them practice and memorise their parts is invaluable. Regular practice not only boosts their confidence but also ensures they’re fully prepared for rehearsals and shows.

Help with rehearsals and performances

We always need more chaperones for our productions. If you are DBS checked and happy to help, we would love to have you on board. Your assistance is invaluable and helps ensure everything runs smoothly. Volunteering as a chaperone is a fantastic way to be involved and see the magic behind the scenes. If you’re unable to chaperone but still want to help, there are plenty of other ways to get involved, and any assistance is greatly appreciated. Please consider signing up—your support makes a huge difference!

Help promote your shows

We’d love your help in spreading the word about the production your child is a part of! Promoting the show is a great way to support your child and the entire cast, ensuring a full house and a fantastic atmosphere on performance nights.

How You Can Help:

  • Word of Mouth: Share the excitement with friends, family, and colleagues. Personal recommendations are one of the most effective ways to build an audience.

  • Share on Social Media: Post about the show on your social media accounts, and don’t forget to tag us! Follow and share posts from our accounts @wiglestudios and @getyourwigleon to help spread the word.

  • Flyer Drops: If you have some time, consider organising flyer drops in your local area. Whether it’s delivering flyers to neighbours or leaving them at local shops and community centres, every bit helps.

  • School Promotion: Taking flyers to your child’s school or asking if the show can be mentioned in the school newsletter is another great way to reach a wider audience.

Your support in promoting the show is invaluable and greatly appreciated. Together, we can ensure that the hard work of all our performers is seen and celebrated by as many people as possible!

Managing expectations for auditions

Auditioning is a valuable experience, but it can also be challenging. We encourage parents to help manage their child’s expectations when deciding to audition. Not everyone will be cast in a lead role, and it’s important to emphasise that every role, whether big or small, is crucial to the success of the production. Support your child in understanding that auditions are about learning, growing, and being part of a creative process, regardless of the outcome.

Individual Performance Licenses

To ensure your child can participate in our productions, it’s important to determine whether they require an Individual Performance License (IPL) from the local council. These licenses are often necessary for children performing in stage productions, depending on the number of performances they have undertaken within a six month period.

How You Can Help:

One of our friendly team members will be in touch with you from onstage@wigles.co.uk to determine whether your child requires an IPL. Your prompt attention to this will help ensure that everything is in place for your child to shine on stage without any interruptions.

Provide Costume pieces

Occasionally, we may request that children provide certain costume pieces, shoes, or style their hair in a specific way for performances. We will always give you plenty of notice so you can prepare, and we appreciate your support in making sure everyone looks the part on stage.

#lovelife

Thank you for being an integral part of our creative community. With your support, we can continue to create a positive and enriching experience for all our young performers. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us!
