THE ADDAMS FAMILY..

Following Chicago, The Get Your Wigle On teen musical theatre group will return to Theatre Severn next Easter with THE ADDAMS FAMILY!

JIn the kooky, upside-down world of the Addams Family, to be sad is to be happy, to feel pain is to feel joy, and death and suffering are the stuff of their dreams. Nonetheless, this quirky family still has to deal with many of the same challenges faced by any other family, and the spookiest nightmare faced by every family creates the focus Lippa, Brickman, and Elice’s musical: the Addams kids are growing up. The Addamses have lived by their unique values for hundreds of years and Gomez and Morticia, the patriarch and matriarch of the clan, would be only too happy to continue living that way. Their dark, macabre, beloved daughter Wednesday, however, is now an eighteen year-old young woman who is ready for a life of her own. She has fallen in love with Lucas Beineke, a sweet, smart boy from a normal, respectable Ohio family — the most un-Addams sounding person one could be! And to make matters worse, she has invited the Beinekes to their home for dinner. In one fateful, hilarious night, secrets are disclosed, relationships are tested, and the Addams family must face up to the one horrible thing they’ve managed to avoid for generations: change.

About the production

About the rehearsals

The Addams Family will take to Theatre Severn during the 2024 Easter holidays week commencing 1st April. With full costumes and scenery - we will be pulling out all the stops to make this production as spooky and kooky as possible!

Weekly rehearsals will be held at our studios. Rehearsals for THE ADDAMS FAMILY will run on Tuesdays from 6.30-8.00pm. If successful in gaining a place, students will attend weekly rehearsals leading up to the show.

CAST LIST

A huge thank you to all of those that attended our auditions for The Addams Family - this is the biggest round of auditions we have ever had for a teen production and the talent on display was incredible! We were faced with very difficult decisions but have got together two FABULOUS casts of musical theatre talent that we know will produce a knock out show! For those unsuccessful please do know that the interest in this show was so high with nearly 80 auditions and we were unable to cast all of those interested. Please keep a look out on our website for future auditions and opportunities to get involved with us.

The first rehearsal for those successful will be held Tuesday 2nd April at 6.30pm - 8pm at our QUARRY STUDIO. We have plans to split rehearsals between both spaces each week but would like to meet the whole cast for the first week as we get to know each other and some of the material. A full schedule will be posted at the beginning of each term to clearly let people know where they are required each week.
