Please note: Casting is never about ranking people or judging ability. It is about finding the right combination of performers to tell the story in the strongest way possible. With a show like Newsies Jr, that means thinking carefully about energy, character dynamics, and how the whole company works together on stage. Every role matters, and every person in the cast helps shape the final production.
To everyone cast, congratulations. We are really excited about this group and can’t wait to see what you bring into the room over the coming weeks.
We also know cast lists can bring out a lot of different reactions. That is completely normal. We just ask that everyone, students and parents, take a moment, lead with kindness, and keep things in perspective. Theatre only works when everyone supports each other and respects the process.
As always, casting decisions were made by the full team and agreed together, so we will not be offering individual feedback on auditions.
