DO YOU HEAR THE PEOPLE SING!
Following the success of our 4th and 5th Wigle West End Trips to see Frozen and Mamma Mia in 2022 and our exciting announcement of our upcoming production we are thrilled to be taking a trip to London to catch this epic musical.
Cameron Mackintosh’s acclaimed fully-staged new production of Boublil and Schönberg’s Les Misérables is “a thrilling inspiration.” (The Guardian).
This brilliant new staging has taken the world by storm and has been hailed “Les Mis for the 21st Century” (Huffington Post), “the reborn dream of a production” (Daily Telegraph) and “perfect theatre in a perfect theatre” (Sunday Telegraph).
The magnificent score of Les Misérables includes the songs; I Dreamed a Dream, On My Own, Bring Him Home, One Day More, Master Of The House and many more. Seen by over 130 million people worldwide in 53 countries and in 22 languages, Les Misérables is undisputedly one of the world’s most popular musicals.
The trip takes place on Tuesday 21st February 2023 and is open to Wigle members and their family.
Trip price is £75.00 and includes a theatre ticket, return transport, bus snacks... and lots of wigle fun! We have secured great stall seats for the performance.
ON THE DAY:
We will be leaving from Abbey Foregate Public Car Park at 10am and aim to arrive in London just after midday (traffic depending). The coach will stop at a service station halfway and also has toilet facilities onboard which can be used throughout the journey. Once we have arrived in London we will have a few hours to eat and explore some of the local attractions around the Theatre (Covent Garden, Leister Square etc) before the performance. If you are an adult or a child travelling with your parents - you are welcome to explore London at your own leisure and meet us at the Theatre. Children not travelling with parents will be split into teams and assigned a staff member who will chaperone them.
The performance of Les Miserables will begin at 7.30pm and is expected to finish around 10pm. The coach will pick us up from the theatre immediately following the performance and we will make a stop at a service station en route for dinner. We expect to arrive back in Shrewsbury around 1.30am at Abbey Foregate Car Park. We understand this is later than our normal West end trips but we have allowed extra time for a fun day out around London in the half term (and we can all nap on the coach on the way back!)
